Mountain High Adventure 2018 - February Break photo page

Tuesday February 20th

There wasn't much snow left so we found a spot along the big parking lot and had fun snowshoeing on the big piles that lined the edge of the parking lot. Afterwards, we practiced throwing snowballs into a bucket. Then it was off on a hike for our treasure hunt. We climbed up the hills and down the hills, through the woods, not always on trails, jumped creeks and slid on frozen puddles, all the while finding and following the clues of the hunt.We finally had all the clues and returned to Seneca Cabin to figure out the secret message and get our treasure. Another short hike into the woods and we found the hidden treasure. Then the kids cooked up some grilled cheese sandwiches and soup for lunch. After lunch many of the kids tried to start a campfire using just a flint and steel. They succeeded and we toasted marshmallows and made smores to celebrate.

Wednesday, February 21st

We went on another hike / treasure hunt in the morning. Then we made a delicious lunch and afterwards we went out to Mendon Ponds Park to see if we could feed the birds out of our hands. By the time we got back, it was time to go home.

Thursday, February 22nd

We started the day with one last treasure hunt, again hiking through the park, up and down the hills and jumping the creeks while finding the many clues. Then we made lunch, played some games, worked on the fire and went geocaching where we found a Christmas tree hidden out in the woods.
