Mountain High Adventure Camp 2023-4 Photo Page

On Monday we went canoeing and kayaking at the Irondequoit Bay Wetlands. We explored up through many channels and saw turtles, swans and a heron. Then we went to Ontario Beach for a picnic, some soccer and swimming.

On Tuesday we did our 12 mile bicycle treasure hunt. On the way back we got rained on pretty good so we finished the last part of the day indoors, figuring out the secret clues, enjoying our treasure and getting dried out.

Wednesday began with some walking on stilts and then it was off to durand for hiking and geocaching. Then we set up the ropes obstacle course and finished the day at the beach.

Thursday, we planned our menu, went shopping, packed all our camping gear into the trailer and took off for Robert Treman State Park for our overnight. We got there around lunch time so ate and explored the old mill before hiking into the gorge to see Lucifer Falls. We hiked down a lot of steps to the bottom of the falls, crossed the creek and climbed back up a lot of steps to the top of the other side for our return trip to the car. Returning back to the main part of camp we went swimming in the awesome swimming area at the base of the falls before dinner. After dark, the kids had glow sticks and we experimented with moving them and spinning them around to see what kind of lighting effects we could make. Then we had a campfire before going to bed.
