Mt. Jo and Avalanche Pass Hike  - February 2006

We were itching to get out and play in the snow and the weather in Rochester just wasn't cooperating so we again headed for the Adirondacks.  We took along Pete's granddaughter and one of my scouts for the trip. There was plenty of ice and snow as we climbed Mt Joe and hiked up into Avalanche Pass which was sitting nice and cold and wintry between Mt. Colden and Algonquin Peak. the lake was frozen, so we could walk across the pass instead of having to climb up and over the rocks along the edge of the lake. As we passed the Dike, we saw climbers negotiating their way up to the top of Colden. Very cool! It looked like fun.
