Camp began with introductions and then some paddling and exploring on Black Creek out near Scottsville Road. The water was low enough that we could go through the tunnels and further up the creek.
Later that day, because it was so hot, we went to the beach to cool off and play.
On Tuesday, we headed out on the 12 mile bicycle treasure hunt. Some of the many clues were easy to find and some were a lot tougher. One was hidden on a playground.
When we arrived at Ontario Beach Park looking for one of the clues, a tall sailing ship was in port and some of us went aboard to tour it.
Then we cooked lunch and the kids wanted to swim again. Today, the waves were rolling in from 2 to 3 feet high. It was a lot of fun jumping into them and "body surfing" along the tops.
On Wednesday we went to the park and did some hiking and geocaching and also set up the rope course for some climbing fun.
Later, for something different, we set up the 50 foot slip-n-slide and played until the parents arrived.
We went to Robert Treman State Park for our overnight but I have somehow lost the photos from that part of the camp.
I think they were on a memory card that I had a problem accessing. Sorry.
I am hoping as I sort through the many folders and photos on my computer that they may show up.
