When we arrived at Braddock Bay on Monday morning, it was raining lightly and threatening to thunderstorm so we couldn't put the boats in the water.Instead, we went off in search of a geocache somewhere out along the lake. As we were searching, the sky brightened up enough to allow for some splashing in the lake. then we continued our search for the treasure. We played around and explored until it was time to eat. After lunch it cleared up enough to go paddling so we wandered back to the boat launch and piled into the canoes and kayaks for some fun out on the water.
The next morning we checked the bikes, went over the safety rules and took off on our 12 mile treasure hunt making stops at interesting places along the way like playgrounds to take a break from peddling. With the leisurely pace we were taking, it took most of the day to complete the treasure hunt. The kids found all the clues and enjoyed their treasure.
Wednesday, we did some serious hiking through the trees, up and down the hills and across the swamps to find some geocaches. Then we took time for lunch and set up the rope course. We finished the day with a swim at the beach before heading home.
Thursday, we planned our menu, went shopping, loaded everything into the trailer and drove to Stony Brook State Park. We ate lunch, set up camp and then went playing down the creek. At one waterfall, the kids spotted a snake trying to climb the wall of the waterfall. That night, we cooked dinner, built a campfire and played "Red Knee" around the campfire before going to bed.
Friday morning, we cooked up some pancakes and sausage for breakfast, packed up camp and went playing up the creek for a little while before heading home.
