On Tuesday we started with a hike through the woods, sometimes staying on the trails and other times exploring through the thick woods, jumping creeks and climbing over and under fallen trees all the while looking for the hidden clues to complete the days treasure hunt. Finally, we found the treasure and made our way back to the cabin to cook up and eat a hot lunch. Then it was a rousing game of broomball to get our hearts thumping again before we went to the big sledding hills to finish out our activities for the day.
On Wednesday we did another hike through the woods looking for different clues for the days treasure hunt and then returned to the cabin for a hot lunch. After lunch we drove to Mendon Ponds Park to go out on the bird trails and feed the chickadees and woodpeckers and any other birds that would land on our hands to feed.
On Thursday we did the last treasure hunt, then practiced starting a campfire with flint and steel. Once the fire was going well, we got out the marshmallows and other ingredients to make smores.Then we did a little snowshoeing and finished up with some sledding before it was time to go home.
