We started our week with canoeing and kayaking at Braddock Bay with a picnic lunch and swimming at Charlotte Beach
On Tuesday, we did a safety check on our bicycles and then took off on our 12 mile Bicycle Treasure Hunt. We were lucky to see the big cement ship docked in the Genesee River near Turning Point Park. Our ride took us to Charlotte Beach where we had lunch and rode the Merry-go-Round. Then we rode back to base to figure out the secret clues and get our treasure.
On Wednesday, we went to Ellison Park to play a round of disc golf. We followed that with a hike into the woods, going up and down the hills searching for hidden geocaches (treasures).
On Thursday, we packed all our camping stuff into the trailer and took off for Fairhaven Beach State Park for our overnight camping trip.. We arrived and quickly set up camp before making lunch. After eating, we climbed back into the cars for a side trip to Fort Ontario in Oswego for a little history. We explored the underground chambers where men with rifles used to fight off invaders, checked out the museum displays, and the cannons, even pretended to try the multi-person outhouse. Then it was time to return to camp for dinner. After dinner we played on the playground for a while, went fishing and even did some swimming, We even found a couple of mermaids on the sand.
