We started our week with canoeing and kayaking at Irondequoit Creek. We explored the wetlands near Irondequoit Bay and saw a variety of wildlife. We even stopped to eat a snack in the boats. Then we went to Durand Eastman Park to cook lunch and play some games before heading to the beach for a swiim.
On Tuesday we went for a 12 mile bicycle treasure hunt that took us around part of the town of Greece and down to the beach where we rode the carousel and played on the playground before riding home to enjoy our treasure.
On Wednesday we set up a low rope obstacle course and climbed between the trees for a while. Then it was time for lunch and some hiking/geocaching. We never found the geocache but had fun hiking through the swamp and climbing the hills. Then we went to the beach but it was closed for swimming so we played in the spray park.
On Thursday morning, we packed the trailer and headed for Ithaca and Robert Treman State Park for our camping trip. After setting up camp, we had lunch and then drove over to Buttermilk Falls State Park to hike the watrfall trail. It was amazing with many, many different falls and cool spots in the woods. Then we went back to Robert Treman SP for swimming and dinner. Later, some of the kids went to the stream to "pan for gold". We finished the day with a campfire. Friday morning we arose, ate a good breakfast, packed up and went to the upper park to check out the massive "Lucifer Falls" before driving home.
