Mountain High Adventure Camp 2025 - February Break Photo Page

On Tuesday, we went to Mendon Ponds Park to feed the birds, do some snowshoeing and sledding. We were the only ones there so the birds were hungry and came often to our hands to get the bird seed. We were going to visit the Wild Wings sanctuary but it was too cold for the birds to be out and it was closed for the day. We still enjoyed our time outdoors at the park. We finally headed for home to warm up and have lunch. We watched one of the "Ice Age" movies during lunch. After eating some played games and some went out to build a big snow pile foe a snow house.

On Wednesday, we went to Webster Park to play in the snow and do a hike / treasure Hunt. It was snowing really good and the hike was so much fun. It seemed that Harry must have had a target on his back because some of the kids kept trying to hit him with snowballs. I good fun he got them back. We finally figured out the clues and found the treasure buried in the snow near one of the cabins. There was enough good stuff for everyone. Because it was still cold, we went back home for lunch and hot chocolate. Later we went over to Colebrook School in Irondequoit to do some sledding and build a snow maze for playing tag.

On Thursday, we went to Durand Eastman Park to do anothe hike / treasure hunt. The snow was really deep in the park and it was challenging to travel across the golf course and into the woods to find the clues that would lead us to treasure. we found a steep hill that was fun to run or slide or roll down in the very deep snow. Eventually we made it to Log Cabin Rd which had been plowed so the walking was easier. By the time we found all the clues we were getting tired so it was back to the house for lunch. Another "Ice Age" movie was put in which was appropriate for our current weather. After lunch we got to eat our treasure which happened to be Fudge Brownie sundaes. Then we went back outside to build a campfire and play in the snow. We cooked hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire and played until it was time to go home.
