Troop 79 and Troop 37 shared a couple of cabins at Camp Barton during a snowy weekend in December 2013. The camp is located on Cayuga Lake at the bottom of a BIG hill. When we arrived Friday night, there was already plenty of snow on the ground and the weather forecast was for plenty more through the weekend. It started snowing and came down fast enough that we were wondering if we would be able to get out Sunday morning. Anyway, we took full advantage of the weather and went for a good hike, exploring up through the camp to the highest areas and back down along the creek to check out the many waterfalls along the gorge. The boys also spent some time sledding both near the cabin and on the road that came down the hill into the back side of the camp. Some time was also spent playing board games in the warmth of the cabins as well as eating delicious foods and relaxing. We went out Sunday morning to find plenty of snow and discovered that the road had been plowed so we could go home.
