Bike Ride and Bill Grays 8-13-2013

We went on a 12 mile bike ride from the church across the Genesee River and then caught the bike path along the river all the way to Maplewood Park. Crossing the pedestrian bridge back into Irondequoit, we made our way along side streets all the way to Kings Highway and took Titus Avenue to Culver Rd. Turning left onto Culver, we headed north to the lake and stopped at Bill Grays for lunch. Afterwards, we rode down through Durand Eastman Park, along the lake and back to the church. It started out a nice day but partway through the ride it started raining hard. Of course the scoutmaster was the only one with a raincoat so we stopped and made raincoats out of large garbage bags for the boys. While crossing the pedestrian bridge over the river, we spotted a lot of painted turtles out on logs below the trail.
