Chimney Bluffs Hike 11-2013 photo page

We headed out to Chimney Bluffs on a cool autumn day for a day of hiking and playing around the bluffs. When we arrived at the park, it was nice. Maybe a little windy but not bad. We walked down to the water, spent a few minutes playing there and then headed along the top of the bluffs towards the Eastern end of the park. As we progressed along the trail, it seemed to be getting colder. We stopped a few times to appreciate the view and take pictures and finally arrived at the parking area at the east end. We decided to walk back along the water to check out the bluffs from below. Suddenly it got a lot colder and it began snowing. The wind was blowing hard, making it almost blizzard conditions for the walk back. By the time we got back to the west end, the snow had stopped, the round was white, and it felt warmer again. We took a few minutes to locate a geocache before going back to the cars for hot chocolate and a snack. What an exciting day.
